How Many Calories Does Your Dalgona Drink Have?

Making your own Dalgona drink? Do you know how many calories your drink actually have?

1. Dalgona Coffee

This 3-ingredients drink is mainly composed of coffee, milk, and sugar. The caloric content is highly dependent on what type of milk you use, either it is whole milk, low-fat or non-fat. The one I used was the Nestle Fresh Milk.

Dalgona Coffee Calories

If you are using instant coffee powder, white sugar, and fresh milk, your Dalgona Coffee has approximately 300 calories.

Since most of the calories came from milk and sugar, you can reduce it by choosing non-fat milk, soy milk or almond milk and by reducing the amount of sugar.

Also, how much is the 300 calories? For healthy individuals having 1 cup of this drink is fine since we can include a glass of milk on our daily diet. What made this drink too much is its sugar content. An average individual only requires 25g to 30g of sugar daily. Yup, with just one drink, you already exceeded your daily sugar allowance.

2. Dalgona Milo

Want a caffeine-free drink? This one is the option of people who want a chocolate drink.

Since milo is an energy drink, this one contains a bit more calories than the latter. But just like the previous one, most of its calories also came from milk and sugar, thus reducing sugar or totally removing it is advisable just like what I did. Check out how I did it here.

3. Dalgona Matcha

Last but not the least is this matcha-based dalgona. This one may sound healthier since it uses matcha powder but again, the calories of this drink is coming from the sugar and milk just like the other drinks.

You can also notice that this one contains more calories since this mix has more sugar.

So, what other food contains 300 calories?

1. 1 1/2 cups of rice
2. 6 pcs tasty bread
3. About 7 pcs chicken leg or 7 matchbox size of chicken breast
4. 1/3 cup rice, 1 piece chicken leg, and 1/2 cup vegetable

Choosing what to eat is not just about counting calories but also choosing which is caloric dense or in simple words, healthier food options. You can also check out how you can make healthy meals while on quarantine.
